Tehran threatens Gulf infrastructure, reveals Europe in range of its missiles

(Originally published March 23 in “What in the World“) Iran threatened Sunday to attack its Gulf neighbors’ water and power infrastructure if Trump carries out his threat Saturday to attack Iran’s power grid if Iran didn’t re-open the vital passage in 48 hours.

Iranian missiles injured 115 people in southern Israel, part of Tehran’s retaliation for Israeli and U.S. attacks that have so far killed 1,230 people in Iran and more than 1,000 in Lebanon.

Iran on Friday fired missiles against the U.S. base in Diego Garcia, 4,000km away in the Indian Ocean. While one missile failed and the other appeared to have been intercepted, the launch revealed that Iran has intermediate-range missiles capable of hitting most of Europe.
